Advocacy Committee (SNMMI-TS)

Enhance awareness of advocacy and optimize grassroots activity.
Support all TAGs in their effort to monitor any changes in their state s legislative process that affect Nuclear Medicine.
Encourage TAGs to present state legislative updates at all chapters to increase awareness and understanding of the important role that advocacy plays in everyday practice.
Support Scope of Practice (SOP) subcommittee with their goals and objectives.
Include all SOP members in conference calls to establish a forum for the completion of goals and objectives.
Support and promote the Value of State Licensure Working Group by implementing an awareness campaign that highlights the importance of state licensure through social media, continuing education lectures, and other outreach efforts.
Work with the Committee on Government Relations on issues impacting the nuclear medicine field. Monitor federal legislation and agency regulations. Monitor nuclear medicine regulations from CMS, FDA, DOE, NRC, and HHS.

Amplify the State TAG program.
Continue our partnership with CRCPD to educate regulators in nuclear medicine and assure that state legislation and regulations do not encroach on the NMT's SOP.
Lead advocacy efforts in the field of theranostics by addressing regulatory, logistical, and workforce barriers.
Include all TAGs in monthly conference calls/online meetings to review activity, provide overall opportunity to hear from other TAGs, and educate TAGs on licensure processes.
Advocate for the recognition of Nuclear Medicine Technologists as essential members of the care team by developing a toolkit for use with hospital leadership and administrators, as well as promoting NMT inclusion on institutional committees to elevate their role within healthcare. systems.
