Committee Mission
To provide analysis and advice, as well as develops policy positions, when appropriate, for all legislative and regulatory issues impacting the SNMMI.
Committee Charges
- Review federal regulations and legislation affecting the nuclear medicine community. To that end, it deals with Congress and the following federal agencies:
- Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) Department of Energy (DOE)
- Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
- Works to establish good communication and alliances with industry partners and other professional organizations associated with nuclear medicine, including (but not limited to):
- The Council on Radionuclides and Radiopharmaceuticals Inc. (CORAR)
- American College of Radiology (ACR)
- American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO)
- American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM)
- Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR)
- Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI)
- American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC)
