Prostate Cancer Outreach Working Group

Committee Mission

The Prostate Cancer Outreach Working Group focuses on increasing awareness among oncologists, urologists, and family practitioners about imaging and therapy technologies such as PSMA, FACBC, bone scintigraphy, and Radium 223, providing updated patient materials for the website and all patient education events, and educating legislators, regulatory officials, and funding bodies.

Committee Charges

  • Ensure that prostate cancer patients and the medical community recognize the value of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging 
  • Provide updated patient materials for the website and patient education events 
  • Educate legislators, regulatory officials, and funding bodies about the role of nuclear medicine in diagnosing and managing breast cancer 
  • Collaborate with prostate cancer-focused patient advocacy groups (ZERO Prostate, Veterans Prostate Cancer Awareness Inc., FORCE, etc.) and empower patients, caregivers, and advocates to work with SNMMI in promoting access to appropriate nuclear medicine imaging and treatment
