Dosimetry Task Force

Committee Mission

The Dosimetry Task force works to standardize how and when dosimetry in radiopharmaceutical therapy should be implemented. 

Committee Charges

  • Advancing radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT) has been identified as one of the top goals of SNMMI. A key component of optimally treating patients with RPT is dosimetry. However, the tools and expertise for dosimetry-based RPT are not widely available and have not been thoroughly validated. Under the Therapy Center of Excellence, this Task Force - comprised of scientists and physicians with experience in RPT and dosimetry- will work to standardize how and when dosimetry should be implemented. 
  • Establish a reimbursement resource: 
  • Create an online resource for different therapy indications. 
  • Develop processes to standardize dosimetry in RPT to ensure quality (acquisitions, reconstructions, dosimetric approach). 
  • Develop standards in consultation with manufacturers for tools for RPTdosimetry including SPECT/CT cameras and software applications. 
  • Publish literature on RPT dosimetry, including how it impacts change in patient management.
