The SNMMI Workforce Pipeline Domain advances a sustainable, diverse, and highly skilled molecular imaging and theranostics workforce by strengthening educational pathways, expanding student access, supporting career progression, and aligning professional development with the evolving needs of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.
Committee Charges
- Assess and address current and projected workforce gaps across technologists, physicians, scientists, residents, and advanced practice providers, with emphasis on theranostics growth.
- Advance standardized, competency-based educational models and career ladders that reflect evolving scope of practice, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Increase awareness and access to nuclear medicine careers through targeted outreach to students, educators, and underrepresented populations.
- Support mentorship, leadership development, and early-career engagement strategies to enhance long-term professional sustainability.
- Utilize workforce data, industry collaboration, and cross-organizational partnerships to inform advocacy, policy alignment, and strategic investment in the pipeline.
