Nuclear Medicine Technologist Requirements by Jurisdiction - Michigan

1. Does your state license nuclear medicine technologists? No
2. Does your state license radiology technologists? No
3. Does your state require a specialty license for CT attenuation correction? No
4. Does your state recognize the CT certification from the ARRT, NMTCB, or both? Both
5. If a nuclear medicine technologist is not certified in diagnostic radiography but is certified in CT can they perform diagnostic CT on a standalone CT scanner? Initial qualifications. Before beginning to perform CT examinations independently, a technologist shall meet both of the following: (i) Be currently registered by the American registry of radiologic technologists (ARRT), the Canadian association of medical radiation technologists (CAMRT), or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). (ii) Document at least 20 hours of training and experience in operating CT equipment, radiation physics, and radiation protection or have the advanced certification in computed tomography from the ARRT.
6. If a nuclear medicine technologist is not certified in diagnostic radiography but is certified in CT can they perform diagnostic CT on a hybrid scanner? Please see answer provided in previous question.
