It may not cover all areas which may present themselves in actual practice. These standards do not supersede the judgment of the individual nuclear medicine technologist and other healthcare professionals serving the patient in light of all of the facts of the individual case. Role & Qualifications of Nuclear Medicine Technologists on the Theranostics Team
The nuclear medicine technologist plays a vital role on the theranostic team, characterized by a blend of technical expertise and direct patient interactions. Their responsibilities ensure safe and effective delivery of radiopharmaceutical therapies. Their responsibilities encompass receipt, preparation, measurement, administration, disposal, radiation safety, quality assurance, quality control, imaging, and documentation, all aimed at optimizing patient outcomes in radionuclide therapy. The Future of Nuclear Medicine Task Force developed a white paper outlining the key functions of NMT's.
