Course Summary:
Advances in imaging for breast cancer offer clinicians and breast imaging specialists new tools for diagnosing, staging, and characterizing breast cancer, as well as assessing response to therapies. This session will provide a multidisciplinary discussion regarding when it is appropriate to order these tests and how the findings can guide treatment decisions.

Course Objectives:

  • Discuss the impact of Molecular Breast Imaging on diagnosis for patients with dense breasts.
  • Discuss the role of FDG PET and FES PET in diagnosing and characterizing breast cancers.
  • Examine diagnostic case studies and their implications for treatment.
